LEGOLAND Discovery Center

By Josiah Keller · On January 5, 2015

The LEGOLAND Discovery Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is a land of wonder and adventure for children of all ages. The Discovery Center offers 15 unique attractions, including a 4D cinema and three rides. The attractions include:

  • Forest Ranger Pursuit: Drive LEGO vehicles to chase and catch robbers who’ve stolen gold bars from the city.
  • Pirate Beach: A pirate-themed water park area with cannons, treasure chests, and a 50-gallon bucket dumping water on people from the top of the ship’s mast. Bring your swimwear & dry clothes!
  • Miniland: One and a half million LEGO bricks reconstruct the local area, with buildings, cranes, trains, and airships!
  • Build & Test Zone: Design and build race cars, and see how fast you can get it to go on their speed test track.
  • Earthquake Tables: Try your hand at building a LEGO building that can survive an earthquake.
  • DUPLO Village: Your 2–5 year-olds can have a grand time building whatever they want out of regular DUPLO bricks, or extra-large soft bricks.

All of the attractions (those listed here and those not listed) are included in the admission price.

The Café is a great way to refuel your energy for more fun at the Discovery Center. The Café serves snacks, drinks, salads, and sandwiches.

After having so much fun at the LEGOLAND Discovery Center, your children will inevitably want to get a bunch (more) LEGOs, and luckily for them there is a LEGO store right there! The store sells many of the latest & greatest LEGO kits, as well as some special limited edition kits found exclusively at LEGO stores.

Is your child having a birthday? What better way to celebrate than having an absolutely unforgettable birthday party at the Discovery Center! For $350 you can have up to 15 guests (with free all-day admission for all of them), 75 minutes for a private party room, 4 pizzas, soda, a personalized cookie cake, and more.

Admission is $15.75/person online, or $21/person at the door (free for children 2 and under). Plan to spend 2–3 hours at the Discovery Center (although you can stay as long as you like). The doors are open from 10am to 6pm weekdays, 10am – 7pm Saturdays, and 11am – 4pm Sundays. More information here.
